CAQC's Accountability

The Mandate and Roles document outlines how CAQC and the Government of Alberta work together to advance the quality of the province’s post-secondary system.

The Alberta Public Agencies Governance Act requires government agencies to jointly create a Mandate and Roles document with their responsible Minister, and to ensure it is publicly available. CAQC’s Mandate and Roles document describes:

  • Council’s mandate
  • Government’s role in addressing CAQC’s mandate
  • Council’s role in addressing CAQC’s mandate
  • To whom Council and its responsible Minister are accountable
  • A process for reaffirming the document
  • Recruitment of Council members and ongoing professional development
